Most flat-packed bed frames come together with 100s of parts, pegs and screws - connections that loosen and break down over time. On average they last just two moves before they’re tossed to the curb. The minimal design of The Floyd Bed Frame uses none of these parts (or tools).
It was intentionally created for move-ability and a lifetime of use. That’s why we call it Furniture For Keeping. The Floyd Bed Frame is created with a sense of simplicity for any bedroom using real, time-tested materials, rooted in classic design.

Are variations in the wood grain and color of my panels normal?
Yes! We use real wood veneer in the construction of all our Floyd products. Wood is a natural material, so it is expected for each panel to have slight color, texture, and grain variations. We’ve developed a color spectrum for all of our wood products, so while your panels may not have come from the same place (and may have a different tone), we know they’ll look great together!
Can I alter my Bed Frame to make it taller or change its color?
We do not recommend altering your Bed Frame, either aesthetically or structurally. Increasing the overall height of the Bed Frame is now possible with the Lift Off. This can be purchased with the Bed Frame or as an add-on to your Floyd Bed - Original. The Lift Kit will increase the overall height by an additional 7" for a total of 13" of underbed clearance. Additionally, we do not recommend altering your panels because they are UV sealed with a light clear coat. Cutting, sanding or rounding them will damage them structurally and void our warranty.
Will my mattress slide around?
The weight of your mattress, coupled with your body weight, prevents most mattresses from sliding on the Bed Frame. However, if you find your mattress slipping, we recommend placing a rug pad, cut to size, between your mattress and the Bed Frame to ensure there is enough friction to keep your mattress firmly in place!
Does the Bed Frame work with a Cal King Mattress?
Yes, your Bed Frame without the headboard will fit a Cal King because Cal Kings are longer (84") but narrower (72") than standard Kings (80" long, 76" wide), so the shorter King frame length means the Cal King mattress will work only without the headboard. Using the headboard is not recommended as it makes the mattress overhang by pushing the mattress further out, so for best fit and support, use the frame without the headboard.
