Designed around the system we’ve been refining for 10 years, The Floyd Bed (Upholstered) transforms our familiar wood platform bed into a fully upholstered bed, adding tailored upholstered rails and a generously cushioned headboard around the original frame.

Product Info

The Floyd Bed (Upholstered) is an upholstered system that attaches to our classic birch bed panels, it arrives as a complete upholstered bed—but the upholstery isn't permanent. Remove it and the original wood Floyd Bed is underneath, giving one bed two distinctly different expressions over its lifetime.

Crypton Parker
Crypton Parker is a high-performance woven upholstery fabric designed with stain, odor, and moisture resistance. Crypton fabrics offer ease of cleaning, perfectly suitable for everyday use, even with kids and pets. 


Polyurethane Foam
Supportive 1" foam, wrapped in fiber batting, to ensure a comfort. 


Powder Coated Steel 
The upholstered rails feature 11-gauge bent sheet steel, matte-coated for longevity.


Bed Frame: 

Birch Veneer
Birch Veneer with an engineered lightweight core. Our panels are TSCA Title VI certified to ensure extremely low adhesive emissions. It's a timeless material, used for its durability and strength. Because this is a real wood product, you may see variations in color and grain pattern. 

Birch Plywood
Birch plywood with an engineered lightweight core. Our panels are TSCA Title VI certified to ensure extremely low adhesive emissions. 

Honeycomb Core
The panels are constructed with a honeycomb core, allowing them to be lightweight without compromising their strength.

Powder Coated Steel
The supports are made from powder coated steel. Each steel support is made from a series of 8 bends from a single piece of steel, which reduces waste in the production process. 

Ratchet Straps
Nylon ratchet straps complete the system, securing the panels and supports for rigidity — enabling no tools or screws for assembly.

How does it work?
When you buy an Upholstered Bed Frame, you'll receive a complete Floyd Bed Frame in birch with the Upholstered Bed Frame Rails. If you already own a Floyd Bed Frame and want to add Upholstered Rails or an Upholstered Headboard click here.

How does it attach?
The Upholstered Headboard simply slides onto your existing headboard. The Upholstered Frame Rails simply attach using the hooks designed to slide on and clamp onto your bed panels.
